Mamirosa: Image Hosted by ImageShack.usThat would be me. I go by Ana in real life. I am a 30 year old military wife. I was raised in Los Angeles, California most of my life. I am currently residing in San Antonio, TX. I'm happily married. Mother to a baby girl. Have 2 dogs and a cat that act like babies! I like to be on the computer a-lot. I don't have many talents really. Unless you count cooking, cleaning, talking to someone in person or on the phone without taking my hands off the pc keyboard and eyes off the monitor at the same time as a talent. If so, then I got it. LOL If I look familiar to you maybe it's because you used to know me as "La-Bella" from La-Bella.net and just recently, Bonita from Bonita in Pink dot com. That was my old blog! If you're interested in seeing more of my pictures, feel free to check out my flickr account. Besides blogging, this is what I do on the side:
  • I created and manage a forum online with my best friend Stephie called, "Friendly Hispanic Amigas". It's been active since 2001. It was created primarily to offer support and friendship to hispanic wives in the military but now we've expanded it to offer friendship to anybody. I've made some really great long lasting friendships through the forum. If you know of any military wives that are looking for support or friendships online, send them our way! We accept military wives of any ethnicity as well.
  • I am currently in the process with my good friend Chris to start a new project. I'm really excited about that. Keep your eyes peeled!
  • Enjoy photography and am planning on taking some college photography classes eventually. I would like to learn photographic skills and improve picture taking. I own a Casio Exilim digital camera but will own a Canon SLR soon!
  • Webdesign. But I do it for myself only. I know very little but I apply what I do know to my blog. I enjoy it very much and it keeps me busy!
Random Facts about me: I was born in Mexico but raised in Los Angeles, California most of my life. So I consider myself an L.A. girl. Even though I've been a military wife now for over 10 years, I still find it hard to get used to the military lifestyle. We have to move to another state/country every 3 years and start from scratch. It's a hard thing to do. And I still haven't gotten used to not being close to my family anymore. I suffer from PCOS and PKD. Which basicly means I have cysts in both my ovaries and kidneys. They both have affected my life inmensely. And not in a good way. Due to PCOS, I had an extremely difficult time getting pregnant. After 9 years we finally conceived through In-Vitro. PKD has caused me to develop High Blood Pressure which is no fun at all Life is too short though! I try to always be happy, laugh everyday, and be thankful for the things and wonderful people I have in my life.

Mr. Mamirosa: Image Hosted by ImageShack.usHe is my Hubby. He really goes by Joe in real life, but he's married to me and this is my joint so he goes by what I want! LOL He likes to watch M.A.S.H. and X-files -a lot. He is my High School sweatheart and can honestly say that I have found the love of my life. The man in my dreams. My sould mate. He understands me and loves me for me. Even when I fart! LOL Now, that's TRUE love....... [ Pssst!!! He secretly likes to get pedicures sometimes while I get my nails done at the salon. But shhhh!!! I never told you that. Okay?]
Buddy: Image Hosted by ImageShack.usHe is our big boy. [whispers]...shhh...he's really a dog but he doesn't know that... His best friend is his rubber play ball. He is terribly afraid of flies and won't leave my side when they get in the house. He's also scared of the broom, mop, vacuum cleaner, flyswatter, blowdryer and... he's extremely horny. He likes to hump our Cat, Sumo, when he thinks we're not looking which ends up getting him doing "hard time" in his kennel. Oh, and did I mention he loves to play ball? He's addicted to his ball.
Mr. Sumo. Image Hosted by ImageShack.usOur kitty. He's our almost 2 years old now old as of [Oct 2006] tabby cat. He makes a great of impression of Star Wars' one and only, Yoda. *hehe* He frequently likes to; run around the house like there is an imaginary kitty stalking and running after him, jump on my desk when I'm on the pc and rubs his butt in my face which usually gets him spanked and shooshed away! He also likes try to get into my cereal bowl each morning. I didn't know cats liked "Lucky Charms"???
Boleo: Image Hosted by ImageShack.usHe's the most recent addition to our family. He's a white/cream colored chihuahua. He's way too hyper 99% of the time but that's ok. He makes up for the lazy and mellow attitudes my other dog has. He's always happy and excited. He pees on our floor sometimes to which he runs away and drops on the floor like he's dead. haha. Really, he does! He throws himself on his back, and lifts his legs and arms up in the air like saying, "Ok, you can shoot me now!" He knows he's in trouble! He also likes to wrestle with Sumo a.l.o.t.. I can't stress the word "alot" enough. They live every day to do that. It's part of their daily routine. It's pretty funny up to the point when BoLeo is getting his ass kicked by Sumo and he squirms like a baby. Then I have to break them up. He makes me laugh everyday and you'll probably read a lot about him and my other boys in my blog entries because they are always up to something crazy.
The Blog/Site: Image Hosted by ImageShack.usYou're probably wondering why the name "Bonita in Pink" for my site. Well... besides the fact that I look "bonita' [pretty in Spanish] in the color pink, hahaha. Ok. I'm only kidding. I chose it because I love the color pink. I used to own "La-Bella.net" but wanted to try something different. I knew I wanted the word "Pink" in it so the first thing that came to my mind was "pretty in pink". And that's so girly! It was perfect. But eh. Somebody already had it. So I decided to just switch it up to "Bonita" in pink. Bonita stands for pretty in spanish.
You will find me blogging mostly about my personal life, my marriage, my husband, my pets, my health, and my infertility issues. And every now and then, in between those topics, you'll find me blogging about things that I find and think you might find interesting as well. Because my husband is in the Air Force, you'll also find me sometimes blogging about what it's like to be a military wife. However, don't expect to read too many entries on that. I don't feel too comfortable blogging about that aspect of our lives. So to sum it up this is a blog about a woman happily married to her high school sweetheart for almost 9 years, who's in the military, trying to conceive through infertility treatments and is still very much deeply and happily in love as they were in High School. Period. Sound boring to you? Sorry. Give me a chance though.
My blog is hosted at Modhost. I highly recommend them. I've been with them years now and I've never had a problem with them. They are great!
